Offering fluid control solutions Degassing pumps in food processing domain prove popular As a developer and manufacturer of liquid pumping devices, Yokota Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (President Hiroshi Yokota, Head office Minami Yoshijima, Naka-ku, Hiroshima) produces pumps, valves, and water devices aimed at industry, as well as producing its own special stainless steel with strong resistance to corrosion and wear. The company, having the advantage of producing all of its patented products based on its self-developed technology, provides solutions to liquid needs arising at construction facilities, addressing the various issues surrounding users. Although the company has presented numerous developments related to water devices aimed at manufacturing, it has also recently been expanding its originally developed technology into degassing/defoaming pumps for food processing factories and office buildings as new business. The degassing pumps are equipment designed to process (remove) air and gas bubbles from liquid mechanically as opposed to the use of chemical agents such as hydrazine. Yokota has obtained patents on the principles of the pump's mechanism, which is able to perform degassing only by pumping liquid through the device.

The degassing device is explained as follows: Pumped liquid is rotated at high speed by impellers and suctioned under this condition by the vacuum pump.
The gas can be separated from the liquid due to the pressure difference between the liquid and gas. At this point, if there is any remaining liquid in the gas, the gas/liquid separation process is repeated, and the liquid is removed.

Currently, Yokota has had numerous business opportunities mainly in the beverage, food processing and pharmaceutical related industries, adding to its record of achievements.

The initial focus was on the office building market in the area of water supply piping and boiler corrosion prevention, however, it only had a lukewarm response. Having the opportunity of hearing user opinions indicating that it would be to the company's benefit to enter the food manufacturing market, it expanded into this market only to receive numerous challenges surrounding degassing issues. After it was able to provide customers with its small, low cost degassing pump, it has been taking on an ever broader spectrum of degassing applications in various manufacturing processes.

Yokota's standard product lineup includes the ASP-0310 (process flow amount: 35L/min, 25mm bore) and the ASP-0510 (60L/min, 40mm bore). This is the standard lineup, however, Yokota also takes orders based on the particular details of user's operation.

Yokota will continue to focus on meeting the needs of the food and beverage industry as well as office building related needs.
